Staniel Cay

February 4, 2014

We stayed at our anchorage at Staniel Cay today - the winds were gusting about 20 mph and it would not have been a fun trip to our next anchorage.  We took advantage of the day "in port" to take care of some household chores.  Cleaning, dusting - yes, you still have to do this stuff on a boat, and a load of laundry.  Daniel had some boat maintenance items to take care of, so all in all it was a good day to be stuck in port.  We enjoyed the day listening to the VHF radio and all of the "traffic" on it.  At noon time, there was an announcement of the local "specials" for lunch - for $10.00 you could have BBQ chicken, Caribbean ribs, peas and rice, mac and cheese, fried plantains and a whole bunch of other items.  We listened to who was getting fuel, who was getting water and who wanted to dock at the marina.  It wasn't "exciting" stuff but it kept us interested.
