This is a blog of our preparation and cruising experiences aboard our sailboat, C-Time. There are many more posts on the other pages, so be sure to click on the "Starboard" and "Port" tabs.

Pre-Cruise Expenses

On this page we'll share the costs to upfit, maintain, provision, and cruise C-Time.  From the boat we've chosen and the money we've spent to upfit her for long-term cruising, you may think that we're made of money.  On the contrary, we're selling nearly everything we own to make her our new home.  If it doesn't fit on the boat or in a 6'x10' room in our son's basement, it's being sold or given away.  This is the only way we can leave our careers behind and chase our dream.  You'll notice we've allowed ads to be placed on our blog as a meager souce of income.  We hope people aren't too put off by it, and will even try to help us financially by clicking on the ads.  As you'll see, it can be VERY expensive to prepare a sailboat to cruise the Caribbean.
